Guide to Vocational Training and Work-Based Learning Program
A guide to vocational assessment, work-based learning placement, support and progress monitoring.
Level-1 Vocational Assessment
Vocational assessment completed with counselor/teacher, parent, and student.
Work-based Assignments and Post-Secondary Goals
Students should be 18 years and older for job placement, if eligible. Assignments are based on vocational assessment, post-secondary goals, job readiness skills, ability to remain on task, and social adaptation.
Parental Conference
Parent conference with job developer and teacher to confirm work-based assignment and expectations.
D75 Work-Based Learning Approval
Application process and submission to D75. When reviewed and approved by D75, completion of D75 work site agreement follows.
Work-Based Learning Site
Community based sites:

- CVS
- McDonald's
- ASA Senior Center
- Cafe Connection
- Walgreens
- SYEP
Work-Based Site Schedule
Students report to their job assignments to practice job readiness skills, 2–3 times per week, during school hours.
Work-Based Site Support
Students receive support from their designated job coach. This support includes on-going visits from the job developer to maintain relationships and update student progress reports with the community work-based learning supervisor.
Monthly Vocational Assessment
Assessment of skills development during community work-based learning.
