Mr. Robert Lopez, Principal
P256Q "Kids First, High Expectations, No Excuses"
Meet our Principal
Dear P256Q Students and Families:
Since March 2015, I have served as the Principal of this wonderful school community, where our school mantra is, “Kids First, High Expectations, No Excuses.” Our caring staff members continue to work very hard to help all students learn and we want what is best for them.
Our P256Q family is made up of highly qualified professionals that include fully licensed classroom teachers and support staff. In addition to providing standards-aligned alternate and standardized assessment curricula for our Pre-K through 12th grade student population, many P256Q faculty members have also received specialized training in Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH), Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education (CR-SE), Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS), Wilson Fundations and sensory strategies to improve functioning in the classroom. Our student body also receives additional instructional time in art, computer science, library media technology, music, physical education and Adaptive Physical Education, science, and English as a New Language (ENL) instruction as appropriate.
We at P256Q spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their learning styles, personalities and interests. We look to celebrate their successes, small and large. We encourage them every day and let them know that they are valued and have a special place in our school community. Our staff regularly share with you the great accomplishments your children achieve throughout their days here at P256Q and our goal is to ensure that all children are healthy, happy and safe, so they may learn as much as they can.
Finally, and most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the fantastic collaboration of students, parents, family and community members and staff. Our partnerships with the families of our students, as well as other community members, including our co-located schools and organizations are integral to our success. Our students benefit, as their parents and guardians are involved in their formal education. We look to maintain consistent communication between home and school for families to learn about what is happening at school and provide feedback to help us improve.
We sincerely care about all of our children and their families, which motivate us to provide a quality experience for each and every one of our students every day. Ensuring a safe, positive learning environment, where our students are growing socially, emotionally and academically, is a top priority for us.
We look forward to seeing and speaking with you at one of our sites, and appreciate your ongoing collaboration and partnership.
Robert Lopez,
Principal at P256Q
